All of our therapists are supervised by individuals with graduate degrees and have extensive training and experience in working specifically with children with autism spectrum disorders. Our therapists have training in, and experience with, a variety of interventions including applied behavior analysis (ABA), discrete trial training (DTT), Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Floortime, Verbal Behavior, TEACCH, Pivotal Response Training and the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS).
Our center-based therapy includes two model preschool classrooms for children ages 3-7 and a sensory/occupational therapy room. Our center has a lot of natural light and our classrooms are equipped with full spectrum, non-fluorescent lighting. Care has been taken to remove, or limit, visual distractions in most of the center. However, we also believe in the need to help children learn to tolerate those distractions so that they can successfully participate in inclusive classroom environments. We have computer stations, a reading corner, pretend play and block centers. We also have a circle time area, tables for work and a game center. Our sensory room includes a ball pit, break room, swing and fish tank. We also have a trampoline, rock climbing wall and large, matted area for active play, in addition to an outdoor playground.
